Who is a Soroptimist?

Soroptimists are women of all ages, cultures and ethnic groups. They are working moms and single women; small business owners and corporate executives; attorneys, teachers and physicians.
Soroptimists are leaders across all professional disciplines who also serve as role models for younger women at the beginning of their careers. The common thread that connects all Soroptimist is their desire to make a difference for others through volunteer service.

Soroptimist International of the Americas

Soroptimist International of the Americas is one of four (4) Federations that make-up Soroptimist International. The Soroptimist International of America members focus on “Best for women”. They do this by undertaking club projects such as providing women with basic literacy and income-generating skills; funding, career development programs for teen mothers; helping low income women obtain routine medical care; and raising community awareness about domestic violence. Members also make a difference for women through participation in Soroptimist International of America's major service project, the “Women’s Opportunity Awards”.  The Women's Opportunity Awards program assists women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families by giving them the resources they need to improve their education, skills, and employment prospects
